Trisomie 21 is a band from the north of France that began to draw attention in the early eighties with some weird and avant-garde electronic music. They eventually got a cult following with cold wave anthems like “The Last Song” and then slowly faded away from the public eye… They’re back and released a new album this year. Here’s my favorite track:

Here’s my “favorite” song from the latest EP of She Wants Revenge, Up and Down. I have found the “down”, but I am still looking for the “up”. They were apparently supposed to go back to their genuine darkwave roots and they come up with unexpected cheap electro-disco-new-wave titles that bring nothing new to my ears. I’m looking forward to listen to the next album, though: as they haven’t returned back to the studio yet and are currently touring to promote the EP, perhaps they’ll soon realize that the mix is all wrong.

After two Post-Punk influenced albums, it seems that Editors ran out of ideas and took the logical next step: to make a New Wave influenced album… Here’s the new single, which is called “Papillon” for some weird reason I’m not aware of. The cheap synths sounds don’t play really well with the quite obnoxious singer’s voice but I happen to like it!
