Here’s my first post for 2010: a nice electropop tune from the debut album of a french band called “In Broken English”… Enjoy!

I just can’t find the words to tell how much i love this band! Their music is a great mix of 80’s synthpop, ebm and modern electro with a nice topping of 8bits sounds… And they’re both über cute!

I’ve been an Interpol fan since the very beginning. Not only a fan but almost a groupie: I was somewhat obsessed by their singer, Paul Banks… It really broke my heart to learn he’s dating Helena Christensen!

Well, let’s focus on music : either he needed a fresh start or Helena went Yoko Ono and tore Interpol apart… Then, he’s now a solo artist under the name of “Julian Plenti” and released his first album, which is filled with beautiful songs…

Trisomie 21

Trisomie 21 is a band from the north of France that began to draw attention in the early eighties with some weird and avant-garde electronic music. They eventually got a cult following with cold wave anthems like “The Last Song” and then slowly faded away from the public eye… They’re back and released a new album this year. Here’s my favorite track:

After two Post-Punk influenced albums, it seems that Editors ran out of ideas and took the logical next step: to make a New Wave influenced album… Here’s the new single, which is called “Papillon” for some weird reason I’m not aware of. The cheap synths sounds don’t play really well with the quite obnoxious singer’s voice but I happen to like it!

JamesHadouken!

If I was a 17 years old british guy, Hadouken! would certainly be my favorite band. They just found the perfect blend between grime, indie rock and electro. Think The Prodigy goes emo. Here’s my favorite track from their new EP called “M.A.D”:
